Yellow Ducky Applique

Hello Kitty

This morning we got a 'Season's Greetings Card' from Japan. Its from our dear friend Ms. Keiko Nobukiyo a.k.a Keichan. She's our lovely drinking buddy #kampaaiiiii-hic-hiiiic (^_*).
Me and hubby first met her back on mid 2002 when she studied Social Anthropology at Universitas Indonesia. She went back to Tokyo at 2003 and we still keep in touch. Every Christmas since she goes back, she send us a card, but heeiii we've never sent one back to her #muka-merah-kepala-tertunduk-malu-duhduhaaduduuh (-_-").

Keichan can speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently, and I believe she will not lose it even though she doesn't live in Jakarta anymore. Well, she is married to an Indonesian, so I might say she has a piece of Indonesia there in Tokyo hehehehe. Later you will see a photo of Mr and Mrs. Dani Muhammad. Photo taken from Keichan's album on FB.

So, why I write about Keichan here on my post under title "Hello Kitty"? Well, the photo of Keichan's card bellow will tell you why #maksa :p

Yeah, its a Hello Kitty stamp mommies... how cute is that? #Gemes-sendiri-iiiih

Wow, what a great introduction for my works related to Hello Kitty that later I will post here :D

This was my first attempt of HK: "Cushions" made for Denzel's B'day.

This was my second HK : "Bath towels" made for Tyson's B'day.

My third HK you probably already seen on my December 2nd post, its "Cushions" made for Baby Ashley. My fourth HK was "Bath Towels" made for Abigail's B'day.

And this was my latest HK (attempt no. 5) : "Denim tote bags" for Alexa's B'day. ^^

After making HK after HK, I think I started to like it more and more :p

Hmmm, I plan to bring my gals to Tokyo Disneyland very soon, just hope that I might not black out everytime I see HK and other Sanrio characters there at Hello Kitty theme park #kyaaa-kyaaaaa-jejeritan-imut-ala-karakter-cewe-di-komik2-Jepang. Hahaha. Krriiing kriiing hallo Keichan? Dani? jadi tour guide yah? boleh yah? mau yah? siiip oke oke brangkat sekarang (Hahahaha, I wish it is as simple as that :p)

Spelling Error

Happy Sunday y'all. Today I am going to share you the story about my silly mistakes in spelling names.

Here you go.
This order came from Ms. Stefanie Santoso to her son DAVIN. Clearly I spelled it wrong and realized it a day before I delivered to her.

So, what did I do with this "David" towel? I posted the photo on Facebook and made a quiz to my friends. In this quiz I asked whoever has kid, relative or friend named DAVID could have the towel for free, but first they have to show a little proof to me. The response were great. A mommy claimed that her brother in law named David, a college student claimed her uncle named David, etc. Yet my nephew also responded to the quiz, said that her grandpa named David. I laughed my lungs out, cos her grandpa is my Pap. The winner of this quiz was my dear friend Fi-Fang. Her third born son named David. I gladly sent the towel to her.

Okay, now another wrong name spelling picture. Can you guess what's the different between these two photos?

Hahaha, yeah confirmed order for "Serene Koh" but we embroidered it "Serena Koh". Correction done, and package sent! (^_^).

This last two pictures were another error made by me. This was one of the denim tote bag ordered by Ms. Susi Susanto for her girl ALEXA's 4th b'day. She first confirmed that one of Alexa's friend named Darryl, but later she made correction to "Darrel". I printed the wrong name lists, so... you know... :p

I guess when you are a mom of two, must work full time as your hubby assistant at his office, give 100% attention to your own work, then this kind of mistake is tolerable right?? Right...??? RIGHT??? Somebody please say right!!! Noo, it just my silly excuse hahaha. No more spelling mistakes later mommies, don't you worry (^_*). Finger crossed.

My Melody Set of 3

Hello... I'm back... miss me? NO lah! I just posted something here on my blog days ago. I'm not going anywhere. hehehe.

Today I feel lucky. How so? I just realized that now some of my customers keep ordering the same pattern I made to be embroidered in different goody. It means I don't need to think of a new pattern every day hahaha. Kinda run out of idea lately, dunno why.

I remember got an order from mommy Ratna Melinda to her girl "Celine", she ordered a denim tote bag, a cushion and a towel with My Melody pattern on each of it. I didn't take the picture of her order but they were exactly look like the pictures shown here.

This is Celine's tote bag look like.

And this is her cushion look like.

And of course this is her towel look like.

Hehehe, I am totally totally run out of ideas ... so sorry mommies.... gonna have more goodies and design next year, I promise you (^_^).

Somebody wears my handmade bag - part 2

My daily schedule every 12.30 is picking up my Sydney from School. Sometimes I was late, but other time I was early. Well, nothing special rite 'cos other moms also experiencing the same routine ^_^ hehe
While waiting for her, I keep notice that one of the nanny always carry this denim bag that for sure is one that we made. Judging by the look and the color of it.. well, it was worn for sometimes now. ^_^. I'm feeling very very happy, 'cos you know that was my first plan when I made my goody; kid who received it will wear it (well, most of the time the nanny is the one who carry it cos this little boss just too busy playing and doesn't care about his/her belonging :p). Its very relief to know that our goodies were not passed to the maid, or worse re-pack and become a gift to whoever having birthday next :)

Boots the monkey for Presley's B'day

I declared this year is the year for famous characters. On my previous worked, as you can see, I embroidered Elmo-the-red- hairy-monster. Then Barney-the-purple-dinosaur and Doraemon-the-cat-robot. Later I embroidered Pororo the-blue-little-penguin, My melody the-girl-rabbit and Shinkansen-the-cute-fast-train and now, I embroidered another famous character 'Boots-the-monkey' who is a pal of Dora-the-explorer. haha I like the 'status' of each character. I'm thinking of making one for my own, Landy-the-cute-tailor-lady, or Landy-the-hot-sexy-mama-who-can-make-nice-goodies wahahahaha.
Anyway, too bad the space of the bag is not big enough for me to sew the whole body of boots 'cos I love Boots' red boots. That's a story behind it rite? Dora met him one day in the forest and helped him saved those boots from being swiped by Swiper-the-fox. He was so happy that makes him wears nothing but his beloved red boots all the time, hence his name. ^_^. Lovely.

Anyhow, this was the order of Mrs. Susi Firmanto, mom of Regina Presley Zhang for her 1st B'day. To add the cuteness of these goodies, I added Dora key-chains and little thank you notes on each of the goody, wrapped them in pink & blue tulle before sending them to Mrs. Susi's house. Have a great birthday dear Presley.

Faith's 2nd Bday

The goodies shown here are Mrs. Catherine Utami's order for her girl 'Faith' 2nd B'day. I thought Faith is her only kid 'cos Ms. Cath looks very young, well as usual I was wrong 'cos actually she has 3 cute kids already ^_^
This month order is quite interesting 'cos at the same time I got 3 orders from 3 different moms (of-course) to embroider Japanese SANRIO characters. As you can see, Ms. Cath order 'My-melody (the girl rabbit)' for her girl guess and 'Shinkansen (the cute fast train)' for her boy guess. Later I will post here their friends: Hello Kitty the cat, Charmy the baby kitten and The Run-Abouts. So cute. You know at the beginning I said I don't want to embroider any famous character 'cos I don't have a licence to produce them (hehehe ... kinda worry if Disney or Sanrio sue me rite?? :P) ... but well, it seems like non-famous character is NOT famous enough to get an order :p .. So, what can I say, kid wants, kid gets.... Happy Birthday cutie Faith ... smoochie smoochie

Gwyneth Henson's 2nd Bday

The photos shown here are bday goodies ordered by Ms. Linda Chuang. She has three beautiful kids named Denzel, Gwyneth and Gillian. The one who is going to have her 2nd birthday on August 8th is Gwyneth -kid no. 2- ^^. Ms. Linda ordered our denim tote bags that will be given to her friends' kids, her kid's friends, her relatives, the teachers of 2 different schools, and last but not least to her nannies and maids. Yup, its 88 pieces in total.

Communication with Ms. Linda was not so smooth at the beginning 'cos first she lives in Medan, and second she was on 3 weeks holiday in Singapore, so many messages I send to her email or BB messenger were gone with the wind. Not sure why but the only communication work was thru short message service, so we did sms-ing all detail back and forth. Cant imagine she must type all 88 names to me, informing the sex of each kid, and informing the detail about what motive should I embroider to each bag. After receiving it, I must confirmed to make sure I got them right, and she must re-confirmed about it. Wooaa ... already feel exhausted just by typing it hahaha...

But well seems like Ms. Linda likes the goodies we made for her 'cos when I write & publish this blog, I have not send them yet to Medan, but she already discuss with me her next order -which is beeeep - to her kid no.1 fifth birthday on September *very BIIIG grin*

Peter's 3rd Birthday

I actually don't really know this-Pororo-character since my girls are no longer watch baby TV. Sydney my 5 y.o tomboy girl who are the one who controled the remote-tv at home is more into Ben-10, Tom & Jerry, Avatar: the legend of Aang, etc. She doesn't like Baby TV's channel that showed Barney, Dibo the gift dragon, Pocoyo or Pororo anymore. Its so boring watching them mom, that what she said :P

When Mrs. Ingge Oey (Peter's mom) came to my workshop asking for Pororo, I said let me googled first. This what I copied-and-pasted from Wikipedia: "Pororo is the little blue penguin who wears big round aviator goggles and a tan-colored aviator cap". hehe. Anyhow, she asked two different characters, Pororo itself for the boy guests, and Petty (Pororo's girl friend) for the girl guests.
Pororo is a character made and produced by Korea animation firm, and it was airing from 2003. So I found only limited web, pictures and news about it compare to any Disney characters. ^_^
Anyway, I chose two pictures, made pattern out if it, found colors to match the real character (except for Pororo's aviator cap 'cos Ms. Ingge prefer yellow than light brown) and embroidered them into our denim fabric. I am so happy that Ms. Inge loves them too, and she said her boy also very excited about his goodies. Aaahh happy happy happy....

PS: those pictures shown here are Pororo & Petty the making. Kinda bored to show the picture of finished goods all the time hehehe, so this time I'll show you the goodies in progress ^_^

Ms. Devi's Goodies

Ms. Devi is the auntie of my previous lil client "Bea". The first time she saw pilo-pilo tote bags was from Bea -she remembered asked her if she can have one, but that lil girl said NO !!! :p - anyway, she saw my bags again at Benedict b'day goody, and she said to me, "well I definitely will order from you cos those moms trust you". Those moms (quoted from her) are very-high-standard-picky-hard to please-moms, so if they like your handmade thingy then it must be good. hahaha. I jumped to the sky.
One thing about Ms. Devi, she actually needs all the goodies by May 21st. However, I said I was afraid I couldn't make it since I had to deliver Ms. Tashya orders by 19th, so it meant I only had 2 days to prepare her order, and it was impossible. I needed to deliver at least by 29th. She said, okay she will re-schedule her party. I felt so bad, cos she must postpone her party. It's not good though :(
So, what I did? I opened recruitment to help me out. I was so glad that my staffs have families & friends who had the same skills with them, so I didn't need to hire someone totally new. hehe. I started making Ms. Devi's order by May 10th and tadaaa...here they are ready to deliver to her on May 21st. Hope those bags didn't let her down ^_^. (PS: the picture shown however let me down, cos I have to take it by myself. My hubby normally did that but he just had his appendix surgery so he was having a bed rest. Anyway, I promise you, they looked much better than the picture shown above, I mean it! ^_^)

Clarissa's 5th Bday

Clarissa a.k.a Icha is Mrs. Elena's kid no. 2 :) Elena called me 10 days before Icha bday and ordered 47 pieces of my denim bags. I kinda worried cos I normally need at least 3 weeks to finish order that many. Anyway, I rushed and rushed, couldn't sleep for couple of days, and tadaaa here they are, finally ready to deliver. Well, talking about me and Elena, we have many things in common. We've been to Universitas Tarumanagara for our Bachelor in Accounting, I met her again in Sydney, Australia when we took our postgraduate degree at University of Technology, Sydney. We also worked as part timer at the same place: Coles Supermarket as checkout operator :). To add more to the odd, she later married John who was my ex-flat mate at Wentworth Apt, NSW. And guest what, we meet again here in Jakarta, bump many times at restaurant, supermarket, swimming pool, car park, cos of what? Elena lives in Kelapa Gading Square, which is the exact location with my workshop. Hehehe. High five Len ^_^

Benedict's Denim Tote Bags

Benedict is a friend of Beatrice (a.k.a. Bea). They are kindergarten students of PSB Singapore School - Kelapa Gading. It seemed like Benedict's mom fell in love with Bea's goodies, cos she came to our workshop a week after Bea's party :) ... What a lucky me! Unlike Bea's mom, Benedict's mom requested only our denim tote bags. So, I thought Bea's goodies still numero uno , cos Bea's had a package of 3 different goodies at once ^_^. Well, apparently the standard just went higher :)), cos' about 2 weeks after she ordered, she sent to me 4 big boxes full of towels and snacks with a memo "those are parts of Benedict's goodies, please put each of 'em inside the bag" hmmm....?! not finished there yet, several days later two boxes full of two different cookies were also sent to us. Another look-a-like memo "those are parts of Benedict's goodies" .... hmmmm ....... hahaha.. now I think, all PSB kids' mom rocks !!!
Anyway, I've got calls from some of Bea & Benedict friends' moms ... and now I'm kinda worried, cos' I'm run of goodies variety... sniff... I must think harder to find different kind of goodies for 'em ... c'mon Landy think think think !!!!

Denim Bag "Chinese New Year" Edition

I've got a pair of flannel doll with the shape of little girl & boy in traditional red Chinese costume at the store I regularly purchase my materials. These cute dolls inspired me to make this simple denim bag for up coming Chinese New Year. I already produce quite a lot of them now, so if you want to order this bag, you know where to contact me :)

Denim Goodie Bag

These goodie-bags made from denim fabric are my latest collection. I think the dark-blue-almost-black color is perfect, it makes all the colorful flannel fabric on top of it even shinier. Love it. Love it. Love it.
